WHAT IS GALLBLADDER

          WHAT IS GALLBLADER

Gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ on the right side of your abdomen, just beneath your liver. The gallbladder holds a digestive fluid called bile( PITA). that's released into your small intestine. As soon as the food goes into our little hand, it releases bile there. To digest food.

The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile from the liver. The bile is then released into the first section of the small intestine (the duodenum), where it helps your body to break down and absorb fats from food.

CAN HUMAN LIVE WITHOUT GALLBLADDER ....

The upper limit of normal for the transverse dimension of the gallbladder is 4 cm. The length of the gallbladder is more variable but generally does not exceed 10 cm. The normal upper limit for the gallbladder wall thick-ness is 3 mm.

And your gallbladder is an organ you can live without. In the first few weeks after your surgery, your doctor probably will recommend that you eat a mostly low-fat diet while your body adjusts to living without a gallbladder. After that, "ninety percent of people go back to eating the way they did before.

You can expect to live a perfectly normal life after gallbladder surgery but may experience temporary side effects related to the way your digestive system processes fatty foods. These symptoms may include loose stools or diarrhea, bloating, cramping, and excess gas in response to meals or certain foods.

        MEDICAL TEST FOR

           GALLBLADER.....

Abdominal ultrasound.

This test is the one most commonly used to look for signs of gallstones. Abdominal ultrasound involves moving a device (transducer) back and forth across your stomach area. The transducer sends signals to a computer, which creates images that show the structures in your abdomen.

CT scans use a combination of x-rays and computer technology to create images of your pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts. CT scans can show gallstones, or complications such as infection and blockage of the gallbladder or bile ducts. However, CT scans also can miss gallstones that you may have.
