URINARY TRACT SYSTEM
URINARY TRACT SYSTEM
*******
The urinary system's function is to filter blood and create urine as a waste by-product. The organs of the urinary system include the kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, bladder and urethra.(the duct by which urine is conveyed out of the body from the bladder, and which in male vertebrates also conveys semen).
The urinary system is divided into two parts. The upper urinary system includes the kidneys and ureters. The lower urinary system includes the bladder and urethra. The kidneys remove waste and extra fluid from the blood to make urine. The urine flows from the kidneys through the ureters to the bladder.
The urinary tract includes two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra. Kidneys. Two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They are located just below your rib cage, one on each side of your spine.
Human urine is composed primarily of water (95%). The rest is urea (2%), creatinine (0.1%), uric acid (0.03%), chloride, sodium, potassium, sulphate, ammonium, phosphate and other ions and molecules in lesser amounts.
The normal range for 24-hour urine volume is 800 to 2,000 milliliters per day .
