A small, fleshy bump on the skin or mucous membrane caused by human papillomavirus.                Warts can be spread from one location on the body to another or from person to person by contact with the wart.


Any of a group of DNA viruses that cause the formation of papillomas or warts.


Warts are caused by an infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus causes an excess amount of keratin, a hard protein, to develop in the top skin layer (epidermis). The extra keratin produces the rough, hard texture of a wart.



HOW IT SPREADS

By skin-to-skin contact (handshakes or hugs).


Warts are very contagious. The virus can spread from person to person or from different parts of the body through: Direct contact with a wart. Touching something contaminated with the virus, such as towels, doorknobs and shower floors.

      

Types of warts

• Common warts (verruca vulgaris) – these look like hard, raised lumps with rough surfaces. ...

• Flat warts (verruca plana) – these look like smooth, flattened lumps. ...

• Filiform warts – these look like thin, long threads. ...

• Mosaic warts – these appear as a group of tightly clustered warts.

• HOME REMEDIES OF WARTS........

 

• Salicylic acid: You can treat warts at home by applying salicylic acid. Other home remedies: Some home remedies are harmless, such as covering warts with duct tape.


Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy a wart.Cryotherapy may remove warts more quickly than salicylic acid.


Packed with malic acid, aloe vera is extremely useful in treating warts.


Made a paste of fresh-scraped turmeric root and taped it on the warts. The warts were completely gone in three applications. 


Coconut oil has antimicrobial and antifungal properties that can help diminish the wart.


Apple Cider Vinegar.

Half teaspoon!

Baking soda,one-fourth tsp.

Make a paste of it and apply it slowly on the wart.

One week time to recover but will not leave any scar.


Pure cashew oil.

Applying on the wart for 1 week will end the warts.

Thuja occidentalis: The most common homeopathic remedy for various kinds of warts. Thuja is indicated in isolated, jagged warts that smell or bleed easily or mosaic warts on the sole of the foot. It is commonly needed for genital warts.
