PUJA (WORSHIP)

    PUJA (WORSHIP)

                          ........

The Sanskrit word 'Puja' is an acronym for 'Purna Jagruti', which means 'Complete Awakening'. Puja is generally considered as a Bhakti Yoga practice. Puja is a form of kinetic meditation involving Mudras, Pranayama, Mantra chanting and Meditation. Puja is also seen as a sacred ritual to connect with the Divine.

The word pūjā is Sanskrit, and means reverence, honor, homage, adoration, and worship. Puja, the loving offering of light, flowers, and water or food to the divine, is the essential ritual of Hinduism.

Puja, involves all five senses of touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing, and also what Hindus consider to be the five basic elements: light, fire, earth, air and water. It can be carried out in the home of Hindus before a shrine, or in the Hindu temple, which is known as a mandir.

REALITY OF PUJA

       ...........

Offering flowers, sandalwood and incense in front of the idol of God is not called worship.

Even paying obeisance to the idol of God with one's head bowed is not called worship.

Even offering good food items in front of the idol of God is not called worship.

Worshiping an idol by dressing it in a beautiful robe is also not worship.

Placing the idol on a beautiful throne and reciting mantras by a Brahmin is also not called worship.

         REAL PUJA

          ..............

Worship is love and goodwill towards someone that arises in someone's mind.

It is puja(worship) not to show off.

Worship is the name of goodwill towards everyone.

Wishing everyone well is worship.

Pooja is to do good deeds

Worship is the name of service and charity to others.

Living not just for yourself but for the world around you is also worship.

Worship means sharing someone else's pain wholeheartedly.

Worship is to serve mother nature.

Thank God for enabling you to worship.

The work which he can do alone. He's included you in that.  Be thankful for this.

It is written in Geeta that after accumulating the good deeds of many births, God gives you such an opportunity to serve.
